Can I still help out?!

I can’t believe we’re only a month away from LIFE. This is awesome! I’m hearing quite a few questions about the service projects and the excursions. So here’s a couple answers to a lot of questions:

Service Projects:
Are there still spots available? YES!! on July 5th and 7th we’re working with Hands on Orlando for a wide variety of service projects ~ want to sign up? go here!

Is there any church plants that we can help out with? YES…but all those spots are already full right now…

If you have any other specific questions you can send an email to: life07service[at]pnw-cma.org

Excursions:

Can I get some discounted tix??!! YECK YEAH! go here.

I already bought tix somewhere else. Can I still book some transportation to the Parks? For sure you can! you can actually sign up for transportation 4 days prior and 4 days after LIFE…so book away!!!

On a different note…
The Watts for LIFE project is going pretty well. I just got an email letting me know that they are almost at the $7000 mark!!! If you haven’t had the chance to get your group involved in that yet make sure you do. Thanks to everyone who’s helped so far~

iRide

“When you ride on the iRide Trolley…it’ll take you where you want to go…want to go!

iRide

When i was in Orlando checking everything out for LIFE, one of the most interesting things i experienced was the iRide trolley. That’s right folks, Orlando has it’s own trolley system that runs up and down iDrive (International Dr.). Is it just me or is this starting to sound like a Mac Commercial with all the iStuff?!

Anyway, you can jump on the trolley right outside our hotels and take it all over iDrive. the information team for LIFE is compiling a booklet you can check out when you get there off all the restaurants within a 1/2 mile of the hotels. We figured that would be walking distance for most.

But for those who aren’t to keen on walking, i highly suggest the iRide. it’s pretty cheap for what you get. you can snag a 5 day unlimited ride pass for $7 a person!!! how awesome is that?! i can already see my students trying to ride it all say long b/c it’s air conditioned. it doesn’t work…i tried it…they kick you off at the end:(.

And just for own sanity…DON’T LET YOUR STUDENTS VISIT THE iRide WEBSITE!!! they have the most catchy/annoying jingle. can you imagine 10,000 teenagers singing this all the time?! no thanks…

Prayer

hey guys,

my wonderful informational trip to orlando for LIFE comes to an end today and it’s back to cold snowy NJ tomorrow. i know it probably sounds weird being that it’s like 85 degrees and sunny here, but i can’t wait to get home.

i had NO IDEA how much goes into pulling off an event like LIFE. there are at least 50 people here who all have different roles in making sure everything comes together. it’s so much more planning than i ever imagined.

with the realization of how much “stuff” there is to do, it really makes me stop and see the importance of prayer. i’m not just talking about for the folks who pull this event off, but for everyone who is preparing to come. it’s without a doubt the most important thing we can do.

as crazy as it sounds, i’d love to be able to have people praying for those who are coming. instead of leaving a witty comment (which i love:)), i’d love for you to leave some prayer requests in relation to what you’re dealing with in preparation for LIFE … something that the rest of us coming to LIFE can really battle with in prayer for you and your group. i also encourage you to join the prayer team mailing list. we’ll send out occasional e-mails, listing items for you to lift up to God in prayer.

leave your requests and do everything you can to check back on this post to see what you can be praying for as often as the Lord leads you~~

in Orlando now!!

hey guys,

Jimmy D in Orlando

i just got down to Orlando yesterday to sit in on all the cool meetings that take place before we all take our groups down here. i can’t believe how much work goes into pulling this beast of an event off!!

i’m pretty excited to be down here b/c i flew out of NJ about 1/2 hour before we got abotu 5 inches of snow. it’s too bad it’s about 80 degrees here…i’ll do everything i can to deal with that

we have lots of meetings this week and a HUGE meeting on wednesday where we kinda bring everything together. if anyone has any questions feel free to drop a comment and i’ll do everything i can make sure we address what we can.

man…this is gonna be awesome…
