Run Boys Run!!!

Tomorrow is a HUGE DAY!!!

It’s race day. that’s right everyone…tomorrow is the big race we mentioned here.

I was talking to someone from the church in New Mexico today just to try to get an update on where they were in raising the money they needed to help support the church in Watts. I’m gonna be honest, i was a little disappointed…their only at $3400. That’s $100 short of 1/2 way.

PLEASE consider how you, your youth groups, or churches can support this amazing ministry. I know we’re all trying to do what we can fundraising wise to raise money for our own groups…but I’m asking you to join me in helping support these guys. We actually just gave 10% of our last fundraising event to the project…it was only like $100…but it helped my students and church understand that LIFE 2007 isn’t only about us. God’s got a plan for every student there…

You can still donate. Go here to find out how.

I’ll try to give you guys an update as soon as i hear. Hopefully Kent will recover quick enough to come to LIFE;)

Good luck guys…we’re praying for your safety and stamina~

    RACE UPDATE!!!!!!

The guys did great! Kent Julian and Todd Grant both ran the half marathon and finished at 3 hrs (for Kent) and 3 hrs15 minutes (for Todd). Jesse Taylor finished the 50K (33.8 miles) in 6 hrs 30 minutes.

All is well here in New Mexico and thanks to those who have been in prayer about this and who have donated. I will give Jimmy an update when I get one with regards to the total ammount raised.

    thanks again,

    Jimmy,

The race was AWESOME! The Crossroads Bible Church Youth Group served the entire weekend and were an awesome witness for Christ. Todd (the pastor from Watts) and I were able to breathe…for the most part…even though we were running 13.5 miles through the clouds. Jessie (the youth pastor at Crossroads and runner extraordinaire) did unbelievable running 33 miles.

It was a HUGE privilege to participate in this event. I hope funds continue to come in. I agree with you; I’ve been somewhat disappointed in the response. I’d love to see more groups do what your group did. Your group’s $100 is a huge gift. If every group did the same thing (just 10% of one fundraiser or $100), we’d see around $35,000 come in for a youth ministry that simply cannot attend LIFE without outside help. Watts, in all realtiy, is a mission field within our boarders. So together, I hope we support this mission field.

    Running for Watts,
